Description

A very tall pearlware "Tea Party" pattern coffee pot c 1790. Prpbably Staffs.Description. Finely printed with a version of the "Tea Party" pattern, an unusually large coffee pot, of baluster form, with simple loop handle, unembellished spout, ball finial and simple painted decoration to the rim and handle. Unmarked, but probably Staffordshire Condition. High quality restoration to a short rim hairline. Invisible to the eye and no flaring under UV, it is detectable by touch. Fine crazing. Some chips to the base, as shown

The piece is painted and gilded in the "Irish" pattern (quite why the pattern is called the Irish pattern in the Chamberlain pattern books is unclear)
