The sumi looking to break through on the white ground too adds to the pattern interest

promoting vivid colour enhancement of the Hiban (red areas) without negatively impacting on the Shiroji (white areas)

The matsuba is already well developed with the white fukurin developing around the scales to produce that great effect on the body of the koi that Asagi are so well known for
