Description

The ReaperThis painting was made from a photograph of a woman picking herbs at a local CSA where I spent a peaceful late afternoon. I was drawn to the timelessness of harvesting that is part of our common humanity. I loved the contrast of darks and lights in the field and the way the figure was at one with her environment.

The colors - maroon

and the rounded rocks contrast with the organic tropical vegetation shapes

This photograph was taken on Mt

They were not cultivated

contrasting the brilliant yellows of the trees and their reflections

This piece accurately represents the feeling I get from this storied place

and from this angle

I love observing the change in color and texture that lakes go through

It too became a placemat

This was part of series called "A Feminine View of the Mechanical World" and the image is probably self-explanatory

This is a reproduction of a watercolor I painted at harvest time
