CaelifaraThe anthropomorphic insect vessel explores the balance between an insects camouflage and its more showy, flamboyant characteristics, incorporating flowers and wings resembling an evening gown, and speaks to the complexity and duality of queer identity, and the desire to both be seen and to hide. It is made from black earthenware, an oxide heavy clay that creates an unpredictable effect on glazes.
