Montagne Sainte-Victoire by Renoir Art PrintWhen the living room feels over arranged, this kind of landscape helps. Renoir's view of Montagne Sainte Victoire opens the wall like a window onto warm Provence, with olive trees, golden grass and that soft purple peak under a brushy blue sky. Up on the wall, the room slows down. The blues lift cooler corners, the gold warms tired neutrals, and the loose brushwork softens any room that's gone a bit too neat. Hang it above a sofa, a sideboard, or low

Here's the trick: let the little ghost cut through all that linen

painted with the kind of loose

so a quiet room with neutral walls suddenly has a focal point

or framed in real wood for something more finished

or in a hallway run

or in a hallway where people slow down to look

an oak frame leans warmer

or a living room that takes itself a bit too seriously

There's a reason illustrators kept returning to the poinsettia

notice what the deep purple does to plaster

or heavy traditional frames will fight the loose brushwork

and anyone leaning on the worktop with an opinion takes the hint
